Catholic Education Charter

Attentive & Faithful

to Jesus Christ

Marian Catholic College,  as part of the system of schools in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga, operates under the authority and direction of the Most Reverend Bishop Mark Edwards OMI.

The Catholic Education Charter strives to ensure that the community of Catholic schools in the Diocese is one that flourishes through living and sharing the message of the Gospels by members who are truly Catholic in their identity and life.

The aims are to  encourage all to achieve high levels of excellence, wisdom and harmonious living. To promote these aims, the Education Charter is expressed through four practical pillars:

  • Welcome
  • Faith
  • Service
  • Learning

These align exceptionally well with the College’s vision and mission values of Faith, Care, Learning, Service and Stewardship.

Inspired by the Charter and the College mission, Marian places a strong emphasis on developing a community whereby students encounter Jesus through dialogue, prayer and sacramental life.

The College provides its students with an ongoing education in Christian faith, practice, witness and service in the Catholic tradition. Students from all backgrounds and faiths are welcomed into receiving an education in the Marian Way.

We are a strong, inclusive community of faith

At Marian Catholic College, we aim to educate our students in the faith, teachings, history and traditions of the Catholic Church.

Religious Education is an integral part of Marian Catholic College and gives the school a richness of meaning and purpose.

The secondary Religious Education curriculum provides opportunities for young people to act in response to Jesus’ great commandment to love God and love others and thus, follow ‘the way, the truth and the life’.

Students in Years 7 -12 are invited into a deeper and more personal relationship with God through their exploration of the sacred Scriptures and putting into action the Catholic Social and moral teaching through works of ministry.
